BEIJING (June 6, 2023) – Nissan’s sales in China continued to rebound in May 2023, and reached 66,096 units, a 10.7% increase year on year and a 7.8% increase month on month.
The sales volume of Dongfeng Nissan (including the Nissan, Venucia, and INFINITI brands) reached 62,832 units in May 2023, a 12.4% increase year on year and 9.2% increase month on month. The Nissan brand saw a 14.1% growth year on year and a 8.4% growth month on month to 56,913 units. The LCV business represented by Zhengzhou Nissan (ZNA) sold 3,264 units in May.
Nissan in China sold 289,370 units in the first five months, a 23.5% decline year on year while the gap is narrowing.

Nissan reports retail sales for PV and wholesale sales for LCV
“We continued to see signs of recovery in May as the market is stabilizing,” said Shohei Yamazaki, senior vice president of Nissan, chairman of the Management Committee for China and president of Dongfeng Motor Ltd. (DFL).
He added that the company is pleased to see the initial consumer feedback towards the newly launched all-new Nissan e-Power X-Trail which is equipped with Nissan’s cutting-edge technologies at a competitive price and Venucia V-online DD-i PHEV to be launched soon. “e-POWER and DD-i PHEV, together with BEV, will serve as key pillars of our electrification strategy for Nissan in China to “address the diversified needs of Chinese customers,” he said.
