BEIJING (May 9, 2023) – Nissan’s sales in China rebounded in April 2023, and reached 61,313 units, a 12.6% increase month on month, despite intensified price fluctuations.
The sales volume of Dongfeng Nissan (including the Nissan, Venucia, and INFINITI brands) reached 57,545 units in April 2023, a 17.1% increase month on month. The Nissan brand saw a 24.9% growth month on month to 52,510 units. The LCV business represented by Zhengzhou Nissan (ZNA) sold 3,768 units in April.
Nissan in China sold 223,274 units in the first four months, a 29.9% decline year on year.

Nissan reports retail sales for PV and wholesale sales for LCV
We continued to see signs of recovery in April, as we strive to ensure sustainable growth and benefits for our partners, customers, and business in China,” said Shohei Yamazaki, senior vice president of Nissan, chairman of the Management Committee for China and president of Dongfeng Motor Ltd. (DFL).
He added that the company is on track to introduce several new models in China in coming months, including the all-new Nissan e-Power X-Trail and Qashqai, unveiled at the recent 2023 Shanghai Motor Show, which are all equipped with Nissan’s cutting-edge technologies to “meet the diversified needs of Chinese customers.”
Yamazaki said the company will also accelerate its electrification strategy in China, aiming to introduce seven electrified models by 2026, and to electrify 80% of its product line-up by 2030.
“More products - as demonstrated at the Shanghai Motor Show, such as the Nissan Arizon and Pathfinder Concepts from Chinese designers -will be introduced domestically to meet the specific needs of our consumers,” he said.
