?Nissan reports May sales in China Year-to-date sales of Nissan China, passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles continue to outperform the market despite a slight decline

BEIJING (June 5, 2019) – Nissan said today it has continued to outperform the sluggish market for the past 10 consecutive months despite a slight decline of its China and passenger vehicle business in the first five months of 2019, down 0.4% from a year earlier to 587,197 vehicles and 2.2% to 481,613 vehicles, respectively. The light commercial vehicle business – Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. (DFAC) and Zhengzhou Nissan (ZNA) – in the past five months sold 92,260 vehicles, representing an increase of 13.2% from a year earlier.

 Nissan China May sales were 121,895 units, a 4.8% decrease.

 Dongfeng Nissan recorded their best-ever year-to-date sales of 430,424 units, a 0.1% increase, while the May sales were 91,394 units, a 4.3% decrease. Key models such as the Nissan X-Trail, Qashqai, Tiida, Lannia, new Altima, Kicks and SUV series continued to drive sales.

 DFAC saw another month of robust growth in May, posting a 3.2% increase from a year earlier to 13,549 units. Sales in the first five months of 2019 rose 16.8% from a year earlier to 67,911 vehicles. Zhengzhou Nissan reported a 7.4% decrease to 4,751 vehicles in May and a 4.2% increase to 24,349 units over the last five months.

I am glad to see more and more Chinese consumers are starting to select our new Altima.”

 In May, 121,895 vehicles were sold under the Nissan scope, a 4.8% decrease from May 2018.

 DFL-PV sales in May decreased 5.6% from a year earlier to 100,497 vehicles.

?The sales volume of Dongfeng Nissan in May reached 91,394 units. The cumulative sales volume from January to May was 430,424 units, the highest cumulative sales volume in history.

?In May, 9,103 Venucia-brand vehicles were sold, and 51,189 vehicles were sold for the first five months of 2019.

 DFL-PV’s total sales volume in the first five months of 2019 was 481,613 vehicles, down 2.2% compared with retail sales for the same period in 2018.

 Nissan’s LCV business in China recorded a 0.3% increase from a year earlier to 18,300 vehicles. Year-to-date sales rose 13.2% from a year earlier to 92,260 units.

 Dongfeng Nissan’s performance in May was driven mainly by the Nissan X-Trail (18,365 vehicles), Qashqai (13,839), Tiida (6,755), Lannia (3,473) and Kicks (3,585), representing year-over-year growth of 2.5%, 20.5%, 28.5%, 18.2% and 1.6%, respectively. The new Nissan Altima, launched at the end of 2018, turned in sales of 5,958 vehicles in May. Combined sales of Nissan SUVs (including the Nissan Murano, X-Trail, Qashqai, Kicks and Terra) increased 5.0% from a year earlier to 38,775 vehicles. The Nissan X-Trail, Qashqai, Kicks and SUV series all had their best-ever May sales.

 Growth for Dongfeng Venucia in May was boosted mainly by the Venucia D60 (5,697 vehicles). 30,228 units of D60 were sold in the first five months of 2019. 100,000 units have been sold since its launch in November, 2017.

 Robust growth of DFAC in May is driven mainly by its light duty truck series, including Duolika, Tuyi and Xiaobawang models.

 Zhengzhou Nissan May sales continued to be driven by the Nissan Navara (2,035 vehicles) and Dongfeng branded pickup series.
