On August 3, at 16:30 CST, a 6.5magnitude earthquake struck Ludian county, Zhaotong city, Yunnan Province,resulting in hundreds of lost lives, over 2,000 injured and severe property damage displacing tens of thousands of people.

To offer immediate and effective assistance to rescue efforts and post-disaster reconstruction,Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NML) and Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd.  (NCIC) donates RMB 2,000,000 to the disaster area of Yunnan Zhaotong through the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, helping victims to resettle as soon as possible. Joining hands with the Foundation,NML and NCIC will support the rebuilding of damaged local schoolhouses.

Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV)and Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Co.,Ltd.(ZNA),group members of Nissan's joint venture in China, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd.(DFL),also donated cash and relief supplies to the disaster areato support rescue efforts.

DFL-PVimmediately sent condolences and words of support to quake-affected car owners, and prepared RMB 3,000,000 for post-disaster education efforts to help young students impacted by the disaster return to their schools and regain their normal lives sooner.

ZNA, together with the local Yunnan dealer, immediately donated vehicles and relief materials worth of RMB1,000,000 to the disaster area, and organized a team of pickup trucks to assist residents rebuild their Nissan and its joint venture's group members in China have contributed a total of RMB 6,000,000 and will spare no effort to provide earthquake relief , with sincere hopes that recovery progresses quickly .
